Happy New Years once again from the beautiful Mendocino coast. We’re on our annual pilgrimage to Albion bringing in the new year in front of this beautiful Pacific Ocean, fire roaring and champagne poured. We feel so blessed to be here and to look back at this year together.

It seems our New Year’s reflections over the last dozen  years have centered around grandchildren, at the birth of my first, Hailey—YES, she will be 13 years old this February! And this year is no exception, in fact this year’s joyful reflection comes in duplicate form with the appearance of twins . . .  Siena and Gemma, making #8 and #9.

The girls made a surprise appearance by coming 6 and ½  weeks early last January, with Siena weighing in at 3 lbs 14 oz. and Gemma at 4 pounds—tiny, but strong. They are such a delight to our family.

Their 5 year old brother, Carter started kindergarten at my school in San Carlos, which is now the best part about going to work every day! We call him the mayor of Heather as he knows and greets everyone by name. Hailey, almost 13 and Logan, almost 11, are busy with sports. Logan is quite the rock climber, and plays baseball and basketball. Hailey plays softball and volleyball, with soccer at her core. Its hard to believe my first grandchild goes to school dances now!

RJ, who just turned 7 and his 5 year old brother, Dylan, are going to school in San Francisco in a Spanish immersion program. So cool to see RJ make a presentation in Spanish. They love the SF Giants and started soccer and t-ball this year. Paige, turning 11, is a beautiful and poised young lady, also incredibly sports-inclined playing softball, soccer and basketball as well as a budding artist, who loves to paint. We’ve found ourselves toggling between fields on a Saturday trying to take it all in! Then there is Justin, 25, just moved to Melbourne, Australia! He has been the world traveler in the last few years, making new friends along the way and finally pulled roots and moved down under! He keeps in regular contact with his grandpa though—gotta love TEXTING!

I call us the Brady Bunch Squared- with Robert’s 3 kids and theirs and my 3 kids and theirs- we are an intimate group of 21. Our Thanksgiving dinner table is huge, with two high chairs this year! We had almost as many children and babies as adults! We are blessed to have them as close to home as we do. Shauna and Evan live in Half Moon Bay as do Chelsea and Joey’s family. Joel and Trich live in San Francisco and Alisha and Mike in San Mateo. Our “out-of-state’er’s” are Amber and Steve on the Oregon coast who are amazingly involved in foster care, and Eric finishing his last year of his doctoral program in Kansas- Dr. Eric Common is right around the corner! Stay tuned for next year’s letter!

Robert and I? We’re in our 25 year together, both still love working and can’t imagine retiring . . .  yet. We both travel, together and apart. We hit Barcelona together last spring, with a little Hawaii mixed in for a little sun and R&R. Mexico City is next on the list in February.

So with this little update of our ever growing family, we wish you and yours a very happy and new year to come. Please stay in touch with us: pjasso925@gmail.com and robertjasso@comcast.net . . .  be sure to scroll down and visit our Brag Book to seem glimpses of our Year 2016.
